Superintendent/Secondary Principal

Larry Long

Background: Mr. Long earned his Masters of Education in School Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston-Victoria and his Bachelors in Elementary Education from Abilene Christian University. Mr. Long served as the Elementary Principal at Faith Academy from 2006-2017 before being promoted to his current role of Superintendent/Secondary Principal.

Mr. Long has been an educator in the K3-12 public and Christian school sector since 1990 and serves as an ICAA Accreditation Engagement Review Team member.

Mr. Long is an ordained minister and active member of Faith Family Church.

Elementary Principal

Terry Neinast

Background: Mrs. Neinast attended Victoria College and the University of Houston-Victoria and received a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in School Administration and Supervision. Mrs. Neinast has been an educator in the K3-12 public and Christian school sector since 1987.

As a Faith Academy parent, Mrs. Neinast served on the Development Team and the Advisory Council. Mrs. Neinast has also served as an ICAA Accreditation Engagement Review Team member.

Mrs. Neinast is an active member of Faith Family Church and serves on the Usher DreamTeam.

Athletic Director

Gil Gonzalez III

Background: Mr. Gil Gonzalez graduated from Texas State Technical College with an Associate's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety in 2002 and was in the safety industry for over 13 years. Mr. Gonzalez has coached youth sports for the past 12 years. He coached at Bloomington High School from 2004-2006 where he served as the head cross-country coach on two district champion teams. He also served as an assistant baseball coach on two regional qualifying teams and worked as an assistant football coach.

Coach Gonzalez is married to Emily Gonzalez and has 3 children. He and his wife created a non-profit organization, The Bloomington Sports Association, which hosts a basketball, flag football, and soccer league and has over 150 kids that participate annually.

Coach Gonzalez is an active member of Family Faith Church. He enjoys teaching his monthly men's Bible group, spending time with his family, and traveling overseas. He loves to wrestle with his boys and ride roller coasters with his fearless daughter.

Registrar/Academic Advisor - Secondary Campus

Marcie Kucera

Background: Marcie Kucera is a UHV graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Science and is currently working on her Master's degree in Educational Psychology at UHV. Marcie has been an educator for 20 years as a homeschooling parent and a private tutor to students in the Crossroads.

She and her husband have 5 adult children. Because she has helped several of her children navigate the college experience and graduate successfully, she brings a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience that will benefit Faith Academy students. Their youngest graduated from Faith Academy in 2020, and their family is excited to watch her play basketball for the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas for the next 4 years!

Mrs. Kucera enjoys mission trips, cooking, and spending time outdoors hiking and traveling with her family.

Administrative Assistant - Secondary Campus

Nina Cornwell

Background: Mrs. Nina Cornwell is a proud Faith Academy alumnus. She attended Victoria College, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Computer Science. She began working for Faith Academy in 2007 as the kitchen director for the secondary campus; in 2010, she moved to the office as the administrative assistant.

She and her husband have three children.

Mrs. Cornwell believes deeply in the Christian education that Faith Academy offers and the Biblical Worldview we strive to instill in the hearts of our students.



Kylie Abrego

Background: Kylie Abrego graduated from the University of Houston Victoria with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in Early Childhood Education. She has 16 years of teaching experience, 14 of which have been in Christian Education and 11 of those years have been with Faith Academy.

Mrs. Abrego's passion is to teach the next generation of children to live with purpose and to fulfill the calling God has on each of their lives to its fullest.

Mrs. Abrego's daughters attend Faith Academy, and she and her family are members of Faith Family Church.

HS Math; Journalism; BCIS

Shelby Castner

Background: Shelby Castner is a Faith Academy Alumna. She graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Mrs. Castner taught three years in public school before coming back home to Faith Academy.

She and her husband have two children and they attend Faith Family Church. She is actively involved in the Women's Bible Study group. Mrs. Castner thoroughly enjoys encouraging this generation in their academics and faith.

5th Grade

Tamra Denoyer

Background: Tamra Denoyer graduated from the University of Houston Victoria in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in education. She taught multiple grades at Victoria ISD elementary schools and also worked as a substitute teacher throughout the district. This is her sixth year at Faith Academy.

She and her husband have three children and enjoy playing games, watching movies, and taking trips to see her husband's family out of state.

It is very important to Mrs. Denoyer to spend time with God, read her bible and other Christ-centered books, and pray with others.

K3 Aide; Secondary Spanish

Ana Luz Gonzalez

Background: Ana Luz Gonzalez was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. Mrs. Gonzalez received a Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Coahuila in Mexico. She worked in accounting for 13 years. Mrs. Gonzalez taught Spanish three years at the Elementary Campus and has been an aide in the preschool classes. This will be Mrs. Gonzalez's third year teaching Spanish at the Secondary Campus.

Mrs. Gonzalez has volunteered in costume design for the Faith Academy Spring Musicals the past 6 years.

High School Science

Joy Pittman

Background: Joy Pittman is a 1969 graduate of Victoria High School and a 1971 graduate of Victoria College with an Associate of Arts degree and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas State University. Ms. Pittman taught 30 years in public schools (High School Health, Biology, Chemistry, Networking, and PE) and coached for 29 years (volleyball, basketball, softball, golf, tennis, track, and cross country).

Ms. Pittman's favorite time of the year is Christmas. Her favorite things to do are wood working, gardening/yard, photography, travelling, and working with kids.

William Pozzi

Background: Bill Pozzi has a bachelor's degree in History from California State Fullerton and is a retired Navy SEAL. He worked for the Department of Defense in Korea organizing exercises between the Korean SEALs and U.S. SEALs. Mr. Pozzi has owned and operated several successful businesses. The thrust of Mr. Pozzi's ministry at Faith Academy has been to have his students look at the real world through guest speakers and his practical knowledge. His goal is to have every student obtain and hold a good job after graduating from college and using their gifts and talents for the glory of God. This is Mr. Pozzi's 8th year teaching at Faith Academy.

Mr. Pozzi has been married for over 40 years to his wife Barbara Breazeale and has four grown children.

JH Math and Science; Bible

Raj Ranjan

Background: Raj Ranjan retired recently after a long career in Chemical Engineering. He held technical and managerial positions with Formosa Plastics, AET Films, ExxonMobil Chemical Company, and Shell Development. He holds advanced degrees in Chemical Engineering and is enjoying his new teaching career at Faith Academy teaching junior high math, science, and 8th grade Bible.

Mr. Ranjan has been married for 45 years to his wife Prema, who is a real estate broker and owner of Prema Realty. They have grown children living in Pittsburgh and Austin. Both enjoy gardening, cooking, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. They are thankful to call Faith Family Church their home church, which they have been attending for the last fourteen years.

Elementary Music; Secondary Fine Arts

Christy Sutherland

Background: After living and working in the music industry in Nashville for 27 years, Ms. Sutherland is excited to share her musical talent, experience, and faith with Faith Academy students.

Ms. Sutherland is a 1995 cum laude graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and has performed many times on the prestigious stage of The Grand Ole Opry. Ms. Sutherland starred in the films "Welcome to Inspiration," and "A Belle for Christmas," starring Dean Cain.

She earned the 2009 Christian Music Hall of Fame Visionary Award for Southern Gospel Female Vocalist of the Year. She received an Emmy nomination for the Hands of Hope project benefiting victims of domestic abuse.
